birdie poo

This is gross but entirely too funny not to share. Brendan and I don't drive a lot so I hadn't washed my car in probably 6 months... maybe a year. I had been talking about it but not gotten around to it. Well, the other morning Brendan opened the car door to find bird poo INSIDE THE CAR. It was SO hilarious because it was right on the door and he had to drive the car to the carwash with the birdie poo next to his arm.

Let me tell you a thing or two about Atlantic City...

Brendan and I had a few days off work and decided it was time for a mini- vacation. Atlantic City was an ideal location; only a three hour drive, pool, casino and dancing! So we headed out last Friday on a great adventure. We stayed at this really nice hotel/casino/spa Borgata. Side note: if you ever find yourself in Atlantic City only stay at this place. Side note 2: if anyone tells you that Atlantic City is just like Las Vegas they have never been to Las Vegas.

Cherry Blossoms!

April is one of my favorite times of year in D.C. The sun finally begins to shine and the cherry blossoms bloom. You really have to live here (or come for a long stay at just the right time) to enjoy cherry blossoms. They change to so many vibrant colors in the short two weeks that they bloom. It's very romantic to spend a morning walking around the tidal basin with white, pink and light purple blooms all around you.

We dont worry about the pennant much, We just like to see the boys hit it deep.

Nothing says spring is in the air like a little pitch and catch on a Saturday night. The Washington Nationals played the Phillies for their spring pre-season game. Brendan and I had a pretty nice view from the cheap seats!!! We are both looking forward to the Braves coming up to D.C. later this season!
This post actually reminded me of a great song by Alabama that I will be downloading on itunes tonight. It's a great summer jam!

Alabama, Cheap Seats:

This town aint big, this town aint small.
Its a little of both they say.
Our ball club may be minor league but at least its triple a.
We sit below the marlboro man, above the right field wall.
We do the wave all by ourself.
Hey ump, a blind man couldve made that call.

Chorus
We like our beer flat as can be.
We like our dogs with mustard and relish.
We got a great pitcher whats his name.
Well we cant even spell it.
We dont worry about the pennant much.
We just like to see the boys hit it deep.
Theres nothing like the view from the cheap seats.

The game was close, well call it a win.
Go off to toast the boys again.
That local band is back in town.
They got a kinda minor league sound.
Theyre not that bad, theyre not that good.
But all in all its understood.
We wanna dance, they wanna play.
We wouldnt have it any other way.

Chorus
Cheap seats

Now the majors called up oh whats his name.
And one more buildin rises tall.
And suddenly were all grown up.
And this old town not quite so small.
But Ill always miss the middle size town.
In the middle of the middle-west.
With no name pitchers and local bands,
And mustard and relish and all the rest.

Brendan's Birthday

Brendan turned 27 yesterday. We had a little birthday party at our house with about 10 friends. I made Brendan's favorite treat- funfetti cupcakes. My sweet friend Betsy had to help me light all the candles and then Brendan needed some help blowing them all out!

New Wheels

Kelly's been looking for an easier way to explore the city, so we went out and got her a new bike today. Aside from being terrified of passing cars, she already looks like a pro.

Looking cool

Nice helmet

Not terrified of running me over
